STUDY 002PERSONAL RECORD / VOL. 001

Before we learn to speak in our own voice, we learn by listening. Before an identity finds its form, something must first make us believe it is possible.

01 / NOTHING BEGINS WITHOUT INFLUENCE

We are shaped by what we encounter. A person we admire, a story that changes our perspective, a garment that makes us look twice, or an idea we cannot stop returning to—small and large influences become part of the way we understand the world.

Influence is not the opposite of originality. It is often the beginning of it. We discover what matters to us by noticing what moves us. Over time, we learn which lessons to carry forward and which directions must become our own.

OWNERS CLUB is the first public record of that process for ETHEREAL ESSENCE: a study of beginning, not a claim that the story was born fully formed.

BEFORE IDENTITY, THERE IS INFLUENCE.

02 / THE PEOPLE AND BRANDS THAT OPENED A DOOR

Essentials, Represent, and Eric Emanuel were among the creative journeys that made building a clothing brand feel imaginable. Watching how they developed recognizable design languages, built communities, and turned an idea into something tangible gave me a vision to study and eventually pursue.

Those influences were not a blueprint to follow forever. They were lessons in possibility: the power of restraint, the role of distinctive form, and the way garments can come to represent something larger than themselves.

OWNERS CLUB was a limited expression of appreciation for those inspirations. It took the ideas and design approaches I had been observing and used them as starting points for learning how to design, execute, and release a collection under my own name.

A PERSONAL TRIBUTE TO CREATIVE INFLUENCES; NOT AN OFFICIAL COLLABORATION OR ENDORSEMENT.

03 / THE FIRST EXPRESSION

The collection was intentionally small. Its value did not come from the number of garments produced or the size of its release. It came from what making it represented: moving from observation to participation, from admiration to the first act of building.

Design involves decisions that are impossible to understand fully from the outside. Fabric, proportion, graphic placement, color, production, photography, presentation, and the experience of receiving a piece all change how an idea is felt. The first collection was a place to make those decisions, learn from them, and discover what I wanted ETHEREAL ESSENCE to become.

The name OWNERS CLUB also carries a sense of belonging. The people who received those earliest pieces became part of the brand's beginning. They hold a chapter of its history, not simply an item from an old product lineup.

04 / GRATITUDE IS NOT IMITATION

Acknowledging influence does not mean remaining inside it. Gratitude can coexist with independence. We can honor what opened a door while choosing a different path through it.

Every person has figures, places, or experiences that helped shape a decision. Sometimes we recognize those influences only after we have already moved forward. BEGINNING makes that relationship visible. It honors the creative paths that helped reveal the possibility of ETHEREAL ESSENCE, while recognizing that the purpose of learning was always to develop a distinct point of view.

The collection belongs to an early moment in the brand's identity. Its purpose was not to announce the final answer. Its purpose was to start asking better questions.

05 / FROM INFLUENCE TO IDENTITY

The natural next chapter is not a rejection of the first. It is an evolution. Ideas gathered from the world become filtered through personal experience. What is familiar begins to take on new meaning. Clothing stops being only a reference to what inspired it and becomes a language for what the creator believes.

That shift is where DICHØTOMY begins: an intentional exploration of opposing forces, personal duality, and the many versions of a single self.

INSPIRATION GAVE THE VISION FORM. IDENTITY GAVE IT DIRECTION.
