THE STUDY OF DUALITY

IDENTITY / EXPRESSION / BECOMINGEE — 003
STUDY 003PERSONAL RECORD / VOL. 001

A person can contain opposing truths without being divided. Light and shadow do not cancel one another. Sometimes each is how we come to understand the other.

01 / TWO SIDES, ONE SELF

We are often encouraged to choose: certainty or doubt, strength or softness, discipline or freedom, the person the world knows or the person who exists when nobody is watching. But identity rarely moves in such clean lines.

Our contradictions are not necessarily flaws waiting to be corrected. They can be evidence that we are layered, responsive, and alive. The ability to hold different emotions and different versions of ourselves is part of what makes a person whole.

DICHØTØMY explores that tension. It is a study in contrast and coexistence—the belief that seemingly opposing forces can belong to one complete identity.

DIFFERENT SIDES. ONE SELF.

02 / THE IDEA BECOMES A GARMENT

In ETHEREAL ESSENCE, philosophy is translated into form. DICHØTØMY carries its subject through a deliberately substantial hoodie silhouette: volume against structure, softness against weight, visible graphics against quieter material details.

The four hoodies use 360 GSM fabric and an oversized shape, giving the pieces presence without relying on decoration alone. The collection's visual language incorporates intentional graphic placement, typography, and flocked details. The result is clothing that functions in everyday life while carrying a concept beneath its surface.

The design is not asking the wearer to choose a side. It is asking whether two sides were ever truly separate.

03 / FOUR EXPRESSIONS OF CONTRAST

Four names bring the study into focus. Each is a distinct expression within the same collection:

CØRE / BROWN

A grounded beginning. Brown speaks to substance, origin, and what remains beneath changing outward appearances. CØRE suggests the parts of ourselves that provide continuity, even as everything around them changes.

FØRM / GREY

Shape, structure, and the way we become visible. Grey occupies space between extremes, making it an appropriate color for a study that refuses simple opposites. FØRM asks how identity takes shape without being permanently fixed.

ECHØ / TAN

Growth, memory, and what carries forward. The things we experience do not disappear when a chapter closes; they return in altered form. ECHØ becomes a metaphor for the traces of earlier selves in the present one.

SHADØW / GREEN

The understated side of the self. SHADØW is not a sign of absence or something to fear; it can be the part of our identity that has yet to be seen or understood. Green brings a grounded, evolving visual tone to that idea.

The collection is arranged through contrasting pairs—brown with tan, grey with green—allowing color to become another way of exploring difference and connection.

04 / THE VISIBLE AND THE UNSEEN

A garment is both public and personal. Others see its outline and graphic before they know anything about the person wearing it. The wearer, meanwhile, brings memory, confidence, uncertainty, and their own interpretation to the object.

That relationship is the heart of the study. The physical hoodie may remain the same, but its meaning can shift with the person and moment. Clothes do not define who we are. They can, however, help us articulate something we were already carrying.

05 / A NEW CREATIVE DIRECTION

Following the beginning represented by OWNERS CLUB, DICHØTØMY is an assertion of independent identity. It is not a departure from everything that came before; it is evidence of a developing voice. The inspirations that made the brand possible have been filtered through a personal philosophy and given their own form.

The study remains part of an ongoing process. There will always be another contradiction to explore, another perspective to consider, and another version of the self to understand.
